What's New in Version 4.1
[New] - We listen to our customers! You asked for it, so we deliver! New Redesigned interface integrates the Thumbnail Viewer with the File Browser, improving usability and optimizing screen real estate. [New] - Now available as a Universal Binary for Mac users! [New] - The File Browser now automatically generates Preview Thumbnails for video files. [New] - Image and Video Thumbnails are now displayed blazingly fast with a new caching system (after they have been loaded the first time in the File Browser). [New] - The new File Browser supports 2 size settings for displaying Thumbnails: Small and Large. You can choose the Thumbnail display size by either clicking the desired size icon in the toolbar or by selecting the size in the Preferences. [New] - The File Browser can now go directly to a specific volume, disk, or folder with the new "Open Folder" menu item. [New] - The JPEG 2000 file format (.jp2) is now supported (requires QuickTime 7.1.3 or higher). [New] - The M4V video file format (.m4v) is now supported. Please note that DRM-protected .m4v files purchased from iTunes will not play in Stimulus, but unprotected .m4v files should play fine. [New] - The DV video file format (.dv) is now supported (includes QuickTime-compatible DV and DVC Pro). [New] - The Windows Media Audio & Video file formats (.wma & .wmv) are now supported. Please note that DRM-protected Windows Media files are not supported. On Mac OS X, Windows Media support (WM 9) requires the Windows Media Component for QuickTime by Flip4Mac to be installed. Free Download at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx [New] - The Copy to the Clipboard feature has been expanded to include a new "Copy Image" or "Copy Video Frame" menu item (depending upon the type of media file currently selected), located in the Edit Menu, below the standard "Copy" menu item. This frees up the standard "Copy" menu item to copy selected text (such as Favorites Notes or File Properties). [New] - When turned on, the Scale-to-Fit feature automatically scales the selected image or video. Plus you can now turn on/off Scale-to-Fit via a keyboard shortcut: Command-F (Mac) or Control-F (Windows). [New] - When a video file is paused, the playback controls for "Rewind" and "Fast Forward" will now more accurately move back or forward by 1 frame (instead of 1 second), based on an average 24 frames per second. [Fix] - Play/Pause button now correctly reverts back to the Play icon once a media file finishes playing. [Fix] - The Search Engine no longer mistakes Mac OS X bundles as directories, ignoring their contents during searches. [Fix] - The File Browser now properly displays filenames with the correct Unicode text encoding (when applicable). [Chg] - Due to the new integrated Thumbnail/File Browser, the Media Filter feature has been removed. [Fix] - Dozens of other minor bug fixes and performance enhancements. |
